அவர் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கையில், ´ கூட்டு எதிர்கட்சியினருக்கே நம்பிக்கையில்லா பிரேரணை தேவைப்பட்டது. அது தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆனால் அதற்கு நான் ஆதரவு கொடுத்திருந்தால் எனக்கு அமைச்சரவையில் இருப்பதற்கான எந்தவித தகுதியும் இல்லை. நான் பிரேரணைக்கு ஆதரவாக இருந்து நான் ஆதரவாக வாக்களித்திருந்தால், நான் கண்டிப்பாக அமைச்சரவையில் இருந்து விலகியிருந்திருப்பேன். ஜனாதிபதியோ பிரதமரோ தெரிவிக்கும் வரை நான் அமைச்சரவையில் இருந்திருக்கமாட்டேன்.
இது தான் எனது கொள்கையாகும். பதவியைப் பார்த்து செயற்படுவது எனது கொள்கையில்லை. நான் பதவிக்காக கொள்கையை கைவிடுபவன் அல்ல. ஆனால் இதுபற்றி ஜனாதிபதியும் பிரதமரும் முடிவெடுப்பார்கள். நாங்களும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். ஏதாவது தவறு இடம்பெறுமானால் நாங்கள் அது பற்றி கட்டாயம் கேட்போம்.´ என அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார்.
இது பற்றி அவர் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கையில்,
உண்மையில் இந்த நம்பிக்கையில்லா பிரேரணைக்கு இலங்கை சுதந்திர கட்சியில் பலர் மாட்டிக்கொண்டனர். சிலர் நம்பிக்கையில்லா பிரேரணைக்கு சார்பாக வாக்களித்து ஜனாதிபதியை தர்மசங்கடமான நிலைக்கு தள்ளிவிட்டனர்.
ஆனால் தற்போது இந்த நம்பிக்கையில்லா பிரேரணை மூலமாக எமது அரசாங்கம் பலமடைந்துள்ளது. ஆகவே ஜனாதிபதியும் பிரதமரும் ஒன்றினைந்து நாட்டின் எதிர்கால வேலைத்திட்டங்களை முன்னெடுக்கவேண்டும்.
கடந்த மூன்று ஆண்டுகளில் திருடர்கள் பிடிபடவில்லை. இப்போதாவது இது தொடர்பாக நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பது மிகமுக்கியமாகும். அது தொடர்பாக அரசியல் வாதி என்ற வகையில் சட்டத்தை கையில் எடுப்பது சரியில்லை. சட்டப்படி நீதிமன்றத்தினூடாக நடவடிக்கையெடுப்பதே முறையான வழியாகும் என´ அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார்.
